Amadeus noticed a similar trend, and they called it: Savoring the ‘Now’: Travelers will embrace that trip of a lifetime.

Google and Expedia report that more than 70% of travellers choose their travel providers based on the adaptability and flexibility they offer. As a result, services that offer “Free Cancellation” options, or flexible changes of the duration or even a season, are more likely to win passengers’ trust in 2022. According to the Google study, 70% of travellers say a brand’s compliance with COVID safety guidelines is essential when choosing a travel brand.
Travellers who took a big trip in the past year spent 71% of their time researching it on the internet, especially on the country and destinations requirements, health protocols and measures.
2022 will not bring many changes in that matter.
Importance of Culture
According to Google’s data, the importance of culture is also growing as a trend in travel recovery. According to the company’s report in collaboration with Storyline Strategies, 86 % of tourists view “cultural immersion” as an essential factor in their destination selection.
Moreover, 75% of respondents plan to look for their culture and ethnicity information.
According to a survey, 50 %of respondents answered that environmental factors are essential for vacation planning.
Last but not least, more than half of those who have booked for a “life moment” or “GOAT” think sustainable and environmentally conscious solutions are of utmost importance to them.
Also, new terms and ways of travel are appearing supporting the ESG efforts, like raising interest in rail travel and philantourism.
